Celtic Chakra are four musicians based in central Europe, in the Rhein Main area of Germany and they play a blend of music from different Celtic countries as well as new composed music in the Celtic style but increasingly they play new Celtic music composed by themselves. They play today’s Celtic music with a new face but hold true to the patterns and style of those who handed the music down to them, taking care that the foundation stones on which it was founded remain cared for and tended. And with respect to the tradition from which the music came, they add to it and help it evolve and meander on it’s endless journey past the winning post.
The strongest influence on their music may come from Ireland but behind it in a close second place is Scotland. Tunes from Nova Scotia (Celtic part of Canada) as well as songs in Gaelic, Galic and English pepper the pallet. From as far north as the wind swept Shetland Islands to the southern solar panels of Galecia, (Celtic part of Spain) the wind, the rain, the sun, the darkness, the light, the turning seasons, mother nature’s emotions and joys can all be heard and felt in their music.
Their instrumentals may have all of those qualities but their songs and stories tell of love and hopes, strengths and joke with humorous anecdotes about that what we all have to learn from life. All four members were drawn to Celtic music from an early age, each one for his own individual and sometimes unexpected reasons. Either of them could have chosen classical music, pop, bossa nova, reggae or jazz but their destiny was what they are now known for. Their destiny was to meet in this formation and play and make new Celtic music together. They love playing in concert environments like Klein Kunst Bühnen or similar venues and have recently been involved in writing music for a sound track of a new project which will make itself public in 2007.
Celtic Chakra are keeping their chakra’s open to expand and develop outwards into the welcomed unknown of tomorrows melodies and rhythms. Keep your chakra open too and if you do we will feed you with musical vibrations to tickle your untickelable and new notes to nurture your mind and heart.
